There is Safety in Numbers

Founded in 1972, the Portland Women's Crisis Line (PWCL) was one of the first five sexual violence crisis lines in the United States. PWCL provides services to the Tri-County area made up of Multnomah, Clackamas, and Washington counties, and its toll-free number can be called from anywhere in the state.

PWCL is not just a social service agency; it is also a social change organization. We believe that domestic and sexual violence are widespread in our society. Our purpose is to not only empower those who experience violence, but also to end the oppressions and violence which causes them to seek out our services.

PWCL provides immediate access to:
Crisis Intervention
Advocacy and Support
Safety Planning
In-person response for survivors of sexual violence
Information and referral
Emergency housing resources
Danger to Safety transportation assistance
Agency and Community Support Groups
